"Andrea is a ground engineering professional with over 27 years of UK and internationally experience mostly focused on major infrastructure and prime/super-prime development. He has an enduring interest on innovation and new technology. Throughout his career he has pioneered new approaches ranging from the use, in the late 90s, of LiDAR to map unstable coastal areas, and the first project in the UK using siphon-drains and electro-pneumatic pumps to active landslides on the IoW, to the use of InSAR/Multispectral/CI remote sensing surveys, combined with GI, for the regional studies for the planned Lower Thames Crossing- UK. He has been the co-recipient of the 2023 Bentley’s Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure 2023, in the Subsurface Modelling and Analyses category for an innovative solution for South Dock bridge in Canary Wharf-London. Andrea leads Arcadis Global’ 3D sub-surface digital initiative to deliver digital twins of the ground for BIM environment and design. "
