Benita Mehra is a Chartered Engineer whose career spans mechanical, civil, electrical, and electronic engineering. A Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM), and the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), she brings a uniquely multidisciplinary lens to complex infrastructure challenges. With an MBA enhancing her technical acumen, Benita has led major programmes across international airports, housing, and the NHS, delivering transformative outcomes in asset management and public infrastructure. Currently consulting for the NHS, she also supports Sustrans—the national cycle network charity—furthering her commitment to inclusive and sustainable public spaces. As a former President of the Women’s Engineering Society, Benita is a longstanding champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in engineering. Her role as a judge at TechFest reflects her dedication to innovation and excellence in civil engineering and construction, as well as her passion for empowering future-facing solutions that benefit society at large.
