Helen joined the UK Civil Aviation Authority in 2022 and is the Technical Strategy Lead Zero Emission Flight and has led the set up and on-going delivery of the UKCAA’s Hydrogen Challenge. This programme enables collaboration with government, industry and academia to improve the understanding of hydrogen-related risks, identify gaps in policies, and propose new policy recommendations through test and demonstration activities. Before joining the CAA Helen worked for the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) on the FlyZero research project investigating zero-carbon emission commercial flight and co-authored the technical paper Hydrogen Infrastructure and Operations: Airports, Airlines and Airspace
