One of a handful of Network Rail’s BCS Chartered AI & Data Scientists, Ian specialises in the Track Infrastructure sector, working for the Technical Authority that governs standards, assurance, engineering expertise, and responsible innovation. Ian’s work includes leading on Horizon 2020 projects such as IN2RAIL and IN2TRACK, representing Network Rail at BSI committees’ RAE/2 (Rail) and ART/1 (AI), managing data risk in rail, and collaborating with the rail industry on AI governance development and responsible AI adoption. As a highly experienced engineer from the marine oil and gas, and rail infrastructure sectors, Ian has consistently integrated computational technology throughout his career. His expertise spans control engineering, process engineering, asset management optimisation, and predictive modelling. Ian's innovative approach and dedication to advancing AI in asset management make him a valuable contributor to the panel discussion.
