Andrea is a ground engineering professional with over 25 years of UK and internationally experience mostly focused on major infrastructure and prime/super-prime development. Andrea has an enduring interest in the adoption of new technology and innovation that started since working as post-graduate researcher on the application of GIS to geological surveys. Throughout his career he has pioneered new approaches ranging from the early use of LiDAR to map unstable coastal areas ,and the first project in the UK using siphon-drains and electro-pneumatic pumps to active landslides along the Undercliff of the IoW, to the use of InSAR/Multispectral/CI remote sensing surveys, combined with innovative on-shore and off-shore geophysics and digital modelling, for the regional studies for the planned Lower Thames Crossing- UK (the case study has been included in CIRIA’s “InSAR and Earth Observation techniques for infrastructure”). Andrea leads Arcadis Global’ 3D sub-surface digital initiative to deliver digital twins of the ground for BIM environment and design.
